HTML Link Help?
«: February 04, 2011, 02:51:21 AM»
Hello, I have recently decided to code my own HTML website, and wished to use a lineart reference that I, myself did using the beautiful lineart of *Aomori.deviantart.com.

Anyway, I know it can be done-- a friend did a site for me (http://calibrev.webs.com) and she's linked the words. I know it has something to do with a map, only I don't know how to do it.

Could somebody please make up the coding and post it as a reply?
http://m3lt.webs.com/ is the site I am working on. I hope to link the letters of 'Melted" on the background image.

Much appreciated,

Mia

I believe this will help you, although I don't think you want to set the image as your background image.

There are ways to have an inserted (non-background) image appear to be in the background without inserting it between the <head> tags.

Anyway, let me know if this helps. If this isn't what you're looking for, I'll see if I can help you more ;3

I also tend to suggest something like GeoHtml. It's an older program and seems to be hard to find online (lots of links, no valid download links) so I've put the file up on my site for the moment. It can be downloaded here.  Screenshot of app here.  The site with the screenshot doesn't seem to have a working download link - the FTP site doesn't want to respond.

I can't download anything, as my computer is so slow and lags a lot.

However, I get stuck on the co-ordinates part. I do one letter, save and exit the editor, and then refresh the site that I am previewing. But when I however over the letter, it doesn't work.
I might end up typing out the word and putting t somewhere on that page, or something.

This is completely online and automated, it may work better for your slow computer.

For the record, though I didn't know about the online one - a native application will usually run faster and with less resources than a comparable browser-based application. Can't complain about lack of a separate install/download, though. (Remember, browsers have to download everything to display it, so it's not like there's no downloading going on)

Good site to remember, I'll have to keep the link around. :)
