Professional Portfolios

I assume, as artists ourselves, that we generally look at a lot of other artists' works. I'm not sure how many of you guys look at portfolios or simply browse on websites like deviantart, tumblr, furaffinity, or blogspot; but for those of you that do look at professional, hand-crafter portfolios, do you have any links to impressive ones that caught your eye?

This one is a nice showcasing of image mapping, but does that really catch a potential employer/college recruiter's eye? Does it catch your guys' eyes, as artists yourselves?

otherwise, I see a lot of artists (Natazilla of Adventure Time and people like Katy Hargrove) use blog websites. Which is more appealing? Should an artist do a little of both?

I'm not even entirely sure I'm looking in the right place as far as information on crafting a digital portfolio, but if anybody has any examples/suggestions/ideas I'd be more than happy to hear them!
