Help turning an MP3 into a MIDI
«: September 08, 2011, 11:11:00 AM»
I figured I'd look here too for some help.
So the story goes, I have an MP3 that I want to use in a dream. I want to turn it into a MIDI, although I also have it as a WAV but that eats up a LOT of space. Now I've already done several things to try and resolve this problem myself (so that no one wastes a post).
I have:
Tried to find a MIDI of it online (to no avail)
Tried to convert it myself using several different softwares (including widisoft)
Looked for sheet music to it (to try and remake it myself, none found)

I am well aware of how difficult it is to "convert" an mp3 into a midi, so I don't need people trying to explain it to me (trust me, I get it already).
At this point I'm mostly looking for someone with experience to help me turn it into a midi (even if that means sitting there are recreating the song as a midi. I understand how labor intensive such a task could be, and as such I am willing to assist anyone who can help me as much as possible.
If I had more musical training I'd try to do this myself but it's a bit of a complex song.

I have a friend who does his own song compositions, and has history in making MIDI files since he's done two for my own dream in the past. He may be able to help out, although he hardly logs onto Furc so you'll have to contact him through his FA if interested--

I wish you good luck!

Thank you so much! I will try to contact him and hopefully he can help me out.

EDIT
This is HILARIOUS. I did a port for Nagir several years back. XD
