Don't Buy Gas for One Day
«: May 13, 2008, 11:04:21 AM»
MAY 15TH...Avoid buying gas.

In April, 1997, there was a 'gas out' conducted nationwide in protest
of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2008, all internet users please join us in staying away
from the gas stations in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over
$3.50 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet
network. The average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take
$2,292,000,000. (that's almost 3 BILLION DOLLARS!) out of the oil
companies' pockets for just one day. On May 15th, we can put a dent
in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

--- Who knows, I got this from the fire department. I'm gonna buy gas the day before (Tomorrow) then not buy it Thrusday  xD

Pff, american prices are dirt cheap compared to what you'd pay in the UK.

lol that's because america caused a scene in iraq to cover up them taking over the oil industry over there.

i'd have thought that people might have thought of a better cause though, than just shunning the oil companies. you know, global warming, the increase of CO2 in our atmosphere: and you all just wanna act out of spite towards the major powers. and for that reason, you SHOULD be paying extortionate amounts.

in addition, if you fill up the day/week before, like most people will, they'll make enough the previous day/week to completely account for the day you all didn't fill up, since they'll be making double the normal amount.

This doesn't work because you still buy the gas.

If you want to make a major impact get the world to boycott Exxon and BP.

same in the UK. why do you think no one can afford to buy their own home anymore? a crappy two bedroomed house with next to no garden can cost up to £100,000 ($195,000) which is just under four times what most middle class people earn in one year. you have a good chance of dying before you ever finish paying your mortgage.

Narnia is right.  In fact, the only thing it might do is increase sales.

Move to a small town where you can walk everywhere. That's what I'm doing. n____________n Saves me gas and it's good exercise.
