price help, yo?
«: December 22, 2011, 01:13:15 AM»
a buddy of mine is looking to start commish's soon - i told him i'd help him where i could, but we're stumped on price!

examples of his art here:

once we figure out what his stuff is worth, we can determine what we'll actually price, and what we can add on for colored and effects.

it would be for paypal, as well. no gd or any furc-related items.

thanks all! appreciate the help!

Since this http://theclawtheysay.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=24#/d4gnolo is like, one of the only thing that isn't.....well for choice of better words....cluttered....i'll go off this ONE example for me.

If character art is what he's trying to sell then i'd say more examples would help.

I'd gladly pay 10-15ish for those lines/sketch and if he's able to color? Definitely 20-25. Only if he can color.

Well, he is just starting out - a lot of what he has on his gallery right now is a lot of free time art, contest art and the like.

he can definitely color, and he edits like a mad-man.

i'll let him know, though. thank you!

Charge at least 1 hour's worth of minimum wage for your area. If you don't know minimum wage in your area, Google it. Round up to nearest dollar or half-dollar. Depending on how many hours you take on average to do a particular type of piece, even it out to a decent ball-park for the particular type of art.

Remember that it is not only your time but also you skill that is being paid for.
