Would you buy? If yes, what price?
«: May 07, 2012, 08:49:20 PM»
So I've been poking at 3d models for a while now, and I was wondering, if I were to offer up commissions for them do you guys think anyone would buy? I know they aren't 2d art, and that's what FAZ is mostly geared towards, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask for input from here.

If I were to texture the models as well what do you think a fully rigged model would go for in the furcadia community? I would, of course, up the price for any included animations (unless I decided to add an animation in just because).

Also, I've been commissioned for a model once before, and I got $70 for that.

Holy... I know how hard it can be to create a 3D model, let alone animation. I'd say you're well in your rights to charge $80+ for one.

I'd say at least $80, those things are hard as hell to do!

If you don't have much luck selling them here, Fur Affinity has a lot of people interested in things like this.

I could see a fully rendered piece, colored, with a simple background going for $150, easily.

This.
If you branched out to FA, you'd def get a lot of interest and way more than 70-80 bux for one of these.

Thank you, but yeeeeaaa no about the FA thing. I don't really feel like getting commission requests for gay sex. (Which seems to be 99% of what FA is about.)

Not to be rude but everyone is right FA would REALLY widen your grabs for these. Also its really simple to state that you don't do mature things. ( plus as someone who uses FA all the time I see more hetero then gay lol.  Its kinda even silly to put that in your comment since it might come off kinda rude. If someone where to take it the wrong way. ) Furcaida / FAZ has only a few members. FA or even DA would give you a better field for selling what you are offering. its really simple to state what you will and won't do. Artist's do it all the time. And even if people ask you can always politely turn them down. Also FA as a block mature art feature if you are worried about seeing anything as well. Just some advice c: I've always got commissioned more on FA vs Furcadia.

Sorry if this is confusing I'm tired. But yeah FA is really a good idea but its whatever you feel like doing c:

Yeah, FA does have its mature audiences, but if you preferred to do clean works, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that.
tbqh it would be refreshing to see this medium being offered for clean loops.

All you need to do is to put yourself out there and see who bites.

The community is very friendly, despite the occasional creeper and erek pretty much addressed the major concerns and how to deal with them :)

there's a large basis of clean artists/art appreciators on FA for the record... as long as you make it apparent you want nothing to do with mature/adult commissions, you'll get along just fine.

i won't lie in that i have gotten requests for large amounts of mature art, but i have just kindly told these people that i'm not interested in doing pornography and they didn't harass me about it at all.

hardly anyone on furcadia pays what art is worth. if you're aiming to appeal to the furry community, FA is a much better bet. however, if you're looking to make more professional things (in game assets, etc), i'd say you're going for the wrong market entirely lol.
