Referencing

Since I'm trying to improve my PS abilities, I've been going through a bunch of interesting tutorials. I ran across this one, and got to thinking... (also, that man's accent <3)

Will people have an issue on art sites if I do sketch dumps and personal character designs using that method, referencing from stock photographs? It'd be a good way for me to work on designing some of my characters and practicing at the same time, when I don't have RL models on hand.

Is accurate referencing for a pose a bad thing? It's at least 1,000 times better than someone tracing in my opinion, since you're actually training your eye, etc.

No one will have a problem with you referencing, as long as you provide credit to the stock you use.  :) Referencing photos is the best thing you can do, next to live model, to learn how to do things correctly.
