What do you think of my ports?
«: August 02, 2008, 08:19:31 PM»
Here's one of my best ports:

And here's some of my other ones:

And here's some more...

Selling/Drawing my ports for 2-5 GD
I think that's what they're worth :>
You can see most of my ports at http://1animaldrawer1.deviantart.com

What do you think of them? :D

Oh, and the reason they're not so good is because I've only been doing ports for a few months and I'm only 10. :(

It's tough to tell; your style varies a bit.

Did you use a reference on the canine?

The canine one was an edited version of another port I found, so it wasn't completely mine. The maker of the original gave me permission to change the markings and edit it x3

they're okay; personally i don't think you're ready to begin charging or selling ports. your shading on the wolf port looks more like scribbles for fur, instead of thought out lines. there's not really any light source whatsoever, and the random dots in the fur really throw me off. the lines aren't bad, and the background isn't either.

for the zebra, it's very cartoony, i suppose. a zebra's head shape isn't anything like that, the ears are off, the hair looks very smoothed down instead of a zebra's mohawk like mane. from that angle, i don't think his stripes would look like that on his face, either, but i'd need a reference to see. the shading is a bit better on this one, but the random dots still confuse me.

try using this tutorial for hair, and fur. there's more parts to it, read them all.

you're definitely improving, i say try offering some free ports until you have shading and hair down.

Thanks guys, but to tell you, I liked the way I drew the zebra port :P (It was only for myself, and it wasn't meant to look like the real thing)
I've actually also sold one of my ports that I don't have on this site as well. :D
I agree how the wolf's shading looks like scribbles, so I guess it isn't my best port.

Your lines look uneven and shaky, kind of half assed and rushed looking. I agree with La-la, I think you need more practice before you sell these.

They're cute! :D

I agree with La-la and Mithril that you don't seem to be ready to sell ports yet. Try practicing on your anatomy, and shading, and I'm sure you'll be able to fetch a few scales for these soon!
