«: August 26, 2008, 06:29:39 PM»
how much would you price this at?

edit - mmk...so this is updated still no shading just yet...red lines are welcome so I can work on things that look odd then after working all the problems out I'll go into shading.

eh, maybe around 1GD.

the face/body anatomy is kinda wonky, and there is barely any shading.

a) what is on its back does it have sharkfins
b) i dont know anyone who would buy a portrait with a signature that takes up 1/4 of it

You should chop the sig down to about a quarter of the size it's at right now. Ports don't need a date, you can get that by uploading it to DA or the gallery here.
Get rid of the crazy fluff on the back/head, that type of fluff looks better on the tail and perhaps around the neck. Use shading to show how fluffy something is.
Ears look massive, but that could just be my opinion.
Shade it before trying to get a price as others have said.

I actually really like the sig. Don't get rid of it, just size it down a little.

Even if a lot who posted think it's not worth much, I find this portrait very attractive for some reason. I like the composition of the critter, the signature and the background, they all seem to make good use of the space. If you improve the anatomy and shading, you can easily ask for 5GDs. I've seen people with very shitty crap getting 5-10 GDs for something that just barely surpasses this in skill level.

I like it! It makes me feel happy.

like almost everyone else has said. Size down that overly huge signature. You wanna get something that can fit in a corner so then it doesnt take the eye off of the main subject in the picture. And the date is not necessary. You do not need to place dates in portraits.

Shading could use improvement, and anatomy needs to get better. I'd personally say 1 or 2GD

Something one could do if offer free portraits to get better at anatomy and shading, or look at tutorials for shading. There are different styles of shading out there. Experimenting is a must when starting out.

Trust me. I'm still experimenting with hair shading [ i still need help with that].

Also with the two tone shading, you want to make sure they both remap correctly. Bring the shades in that down by 1 more.[ change the lighter colour to the darker colour currently, and switch the darker colour to 1 shade darker.] because seeing white going to colour is very odd.

overall, the anatomy needs a little more work. specially the head and ears.
and as pointed out, it needs shading. lol

for now id say 3-5 gds or one space.
