Coloring the literal lineart? HALP. (Resolved for now! :D)
«: September 16, 2008, 06:21:54 PM»
I was messing around with a "theory", if you could call it that, about coloring the lineart I will soon draw to the song "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

I wanted to make the "backround" totally black, and the literal linert itself colored in a sort of "gradient" style, to make it look all... multicolored. But I'm having trouble.

I'm not sure how I can do it. Will I have to tediously and sloppily try and blend colors directly over my pretty (traditionally inked and scanned) lineart, or is there another way?! HALP.

welllllllll a way you could do it would to have the line art in a separate layer and have the layer beneath be filled with black.

then for the line art layer, go to layer palette after making the lines and then set it to opacity lock (the lil eye on the layer palette) and start coloring the lines..

i hope this makes sense i'm not looking at photoshop right now.
