Post Your Signature
«: February 24, 2008, 03:05:25 PM»
Cross-post of the FAM sticky http://altmarket.net/viewtopic.php?t=11970 .

To the Artists:
Describe your signature or take a screenshot and crop out your signature, and post it here for everyone to reference.

To the Viewers:
If you think a portrait or artwork has been stolen and it has a signature in tact, check here if you don't know who the signature belongs to. Hopefully the artist will have their signature here for your reference.

Oooh, Good idea. c:

My siggy:

A tiny MC with a dot in the C. My older ports had a larger version of this, but it took up way too much space. :P

Mine -

Original, huh? Says "dil" in cursive.

I've also used the signature "dilly" before I got the alt Dil, but it's only on my first 2-3 ports.

- First signature on my earliest ports. Probably won't be floating around too much.

- Signature adopted in late 2004 - early 2005. Probably won't be seen much either.

- Briefly used in 2006 - 2007 after FMA got popular; only on about a dozen or so ports.

- ONLY USED on the ports for the alts Jack and Sally; not used anywhere else.

- Signature from 2007 - now; used on most of the ports I drew floating around Furc.

- Digital signature; only on 24-bit ports of mine.

The colors on ALL of them vary depending on the background used.

For regular digital work, I tend to sign with "Lion Sora"

Yes. I have a lot.

<-- My standard signature, sometimes in different colors or just 1 shade lighter than the BG. My early portraits used this exact color of signature only the S and T were larger.
<-- Sometimes I camouflage my signature in the background or on a part of the subject of the port. These are woven in to prove myself as the artist if the thief is fooled into using them in a traced/ripped port. This type of signature can only be found if zoomed in on.

My signature is a minute hand. I've got more than one that I regularly use, actually.

  - These are all mine. As of late I've only been using the first.

- And I wonder, does anyone remember this one? Probably won't be floating around very much anymore.

My older ones were just A-K ##. (IE: A-K 06)

My newest is usually just has AK or A-K shaped into a heart (or close to it). They are also hidden within the background or withing the character itself.

A crosshair. In a corner, usually blends with the background somewhat.
Other art signature is usually in lower right corner, with year.

Verbose description: Top one is a five pixel tall "K L S" with a one pixel space between each, either in black, or remapping colors. Each letter usually remapped differently. VERY old, and seen only on a few portraits.
The middle one is a Z with a dagger through it, and K L S in three'four pixel tall letters. The S is one pixel larger than the others. This remapped to Boot and Trouser. It was only seen on two or three portraits.
The bottom one is the current sig I use. It is KLS in five pixel tall letters, all linked together, over a tarot card. It usually has a partial border in a color that will make it visible on the port. This is seen on all of my current player portraits, but likely not seen on any of my commissions for maps.  The colors of the card ma varry (usually red and khaki, but the brightness of those colors can change).

My old sigs were something like {K} I doubt you'll see any of those floating around. Maybe ONE if any.

Then it changed to a star with a D in it.  Some of those you might see around.
Later changed it to "DEMI" (some ports I used the star sig afterward. Cause of lack of space or whatever)

My most recent ports have this: in varying colors of course.

Looking to commission me or just need to contact?

One of my firsts, MC with a little C on the side. Went by quick.

Cartoony-cobra head. Supposed to depict my fursona's snake tail's face. No longer used. On a few ports.

Never really used in public. Used on a couple of ports for a dream me and my friend made. MDC surrounded by white.

Used maybe once. MDC inside a box with a heart ontop.

Current. MDC (my initials). Badge remappable, sometimes open, sometimes surrounded by a box. usually in a corner.

I don't actually have a signature, since I always thought that if I were the one commissioning the portrait, I'd be kind of annoyed to have someone else mark up my character. Personally I even hate signing my real life work (unless someone is buying it and they demand an artist signature), because it looks visually disruptive to me. Maybe I'm hypersensitive, I dunno.

Still, they aren't too hard to recognize. There are a few other people who do line-less portraits, but so far as I know I'm one of the only people who does them exclusively.
