this is a portrait of one of my friends... yeah. i know his nose is a little large.

i was going for a looser shading style than i'm used to doing with graphite, so i think that some areas kinda look wonky.
the background's kind of a cop-out...

BUTUHM. yeah. i'm asking for... technique criticisms and suggestions pretty much, if you could.

sorry the scan's a little sloppy on the left side. my piece of illustration board was... maybe a centimeter too large for my scanner. ):

looks pretty nice. i think the ear might be a bit too small, though.

Don't be afraid of contrast! It looks nice. Try doing some deeper shadows on the skin! It's so hard in traditional media sometimes but you can do it.
