Suggest A Tablet!
«: June 25, 2009, 04:42:27 PM»
I'm looking around for a new tablet. I have a pretty open budget, but I'm not looking for anything over 200 dollars.

The one I'm using now is a 50 dollar Genius tablet, so let's go for a step up please. XD I really want something with good pressure settings and a large pad area.

This would be a good thread for other people who don't have a tablet yet/are also looking for a new tablet, so post your favorites! :)

Thanks!

EDIT: Found this one. Looks good to me. How about you? :3 http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Graphire4-6x8-Tablet-CTE640S/dp/B000BBE9DM/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1245967019&sr=1-40

I use the Wacom Intuos 3 and it has been amazing.

Wacoms are constantly praised, I think I'm going to go with one.

http://aiptek.com

Their tablets are very durable from my experience
Their tablets are also cheaper in price when compared to the same sizes as wacom. Performance is nice as well though you MIGHT have to go to the website to upgrade the pen pressure driver unless they update their CDs

I've never heard of that company.

i reccomend aiptek as well, pretty much for the same reasons Eevee listed. the one i have now has lasted longer than my wacom, and is much more durable.

I have a Wacom Bamboo Fun and I love it, but my next tablet (which won't be for a while hopefilly) will likely be an Aiptek.

I personally use the aiptek slim tablet. Best I've ever had, and I've had wacoms.

It's pretty big, and only costs 115

Becaaaaaaaaaaaause wacom completely dominates tablets and newer companies are only just popping up and ending the monopoly? .. or whatever. Pretty sure they've been around, wacom is just big.

It's just that their prices are so ridiculously low for such big tablets. It kind of makes me nervous because everyone else charges $200+ for just a 6 x 8. It makes me wonder if the quality is really up to par, or if some people get majorly ripped off.

personally if i got a new tablet i'd get an aiptek because that price for a 9x12 compared to wacom tablet seems soooo nice.  plus i spent around the same price for my wacom and it's fucking 4x3. :~(

That seems like it would be an awkward size to work with. o_o;

... uhm. It's the most natural size to work with.

4x3? Seems a bit small, but I've never tried one. I'm sure I would get used to it, though.

I like my large tablet because it's about the same size as my screen, so it feels much more natural to work with. I had a hard time, when I had a tablet the size you like. I'm one of those people who does quick, big strokes, than small ones, and the small ones I'd need for a small tablet cramp my hand, anyway. aha.
