Crits on my port? :)
«: July 05, 2009, 07:55:19 PM»
I have never done a port before, this is my first. xD
I am a traditional artist and pixel art usually makes no sense to me.

I sketched it in photoshop, and transferred to the patch editor ( I have a Mac and thus, no MS Paint xD )

I might redo the background because I had no idea what to do for the background and it looks kinda silly now. nn;

The shading is flat and limited in range, and the light source seems inconsistent. I don't draw animals much so I won't comment on anatomy

I worked with it a little more and ended up with this.

That's definitely a better shading method. I agree with Matter, though, the light source seems off.

The problem areas that I see for light source are the chest fluff and our left side of the face vs. everywhere else. Those first two say the light source is off on the left, slightly behind the character, while the others say the light source is slightly in front of the character.

Not completely focused on a general direction though the second time around looks nice.
