Multi IM client?
«: August 02, 2009, 08:17:39 PM»
Okay so, trillian's made of douche and fail. Over the years, it has, multiple times, thrown my friends lists back to their old formations, and generally been a jerk. Always gives me problems one way or another. Mic and video also have never worked, won't let me paste pictures into the client like the real ones do, generally screws up file transfers, crashes half the time when I get a friends request on msn or yahoo, or asks me to add them every time they/i log in. ETC., ETC.

I've been recommended things a few times, but it usually hasn't really worked. Like, I tried .. Miranda, was it? And it was also made of fail.

Does anyone know a program that I can
-Run ICQ, YIM, MSN, and AIM on, all at the same time?
-Run multiple screen names for each of the IMs?

Those are the things I absolutely need. These other things would be well appreciated:

-Video/Audio chat
-Working file transfers
-Being able to paste pictures into the client window
-Being able to draw into the client window, like on MSN

If any of that's even possible.

I can't stand running all the clients at the same time, and I like to have all of my conversations grouped into the same window. I like a simple interface, nothing fancy looking, nothing that hogs resources when nothing special is being used..

:x

Edit: A friend found me this: http://www.digsby.com/ It looks okay so far. Can delete if mods wanna.

My personal favorite is Trillian by Cerulean Studios. I've been using it for years.

Which is what I've been using, and has been giving me all those problems. :/

I'll give it a try if this one I linked in the first post pisses me off. <3

I use GAIM but it kinda sucks balls. I'd go with Pidgin.
(I have to switch to regular AIM every time I want to direct connect :DDDD )

I used to use Trillin. But, I stopped using it because I missed all the cool things you can do in the original clients.
Plus, I don't really use ICQ anymore. It was more of a fad about 8 years ago but now, I don't know anyone who really does use it anymore.

DEP uses ICQ almost exclusively for communication.
